DeKalb County, GA, May
2006. Within 11 days, three female real estate agents in DeKalb County
reported being robbed at gunpoint by a man and woman. A month earlier another DeKalb County agent was abducted and forced
to withdraw $1,500 from an ATM machine then taken to a jewelry store where she used credit cards to purchase a $7,500 Rolex
watch for the robber. During the incident he frequently threatened to shoot her or "dismember" her if she did not cooperate.
Baltimore, MD, July 2004. Maryland State Police warned realtors about a man who allegedly injured one agent and could be stalking others. In
the first incident a female agent was assaulted during an open house by a visitor who looked around the house then picked
up an object and struck the agent on the back of the head. Police had first viewed it as an isolated incident but other agents
reported a man matching the description had attended open houses in the area and in one case tried to lure the host agent
into an isolated part of the house. The agent who was hit was able to fend off her attacker but police believe it was intended
as a sexual assault.
Resent studies show that 80% of the people in this country will be the
victim of a serious or violent crime within their lifetime. A violent crime is committed in the United States every 17 seconds!
Every 5 minutes a woman is raped! You do the math! Our children are taking guns to school at an alarming rate. Our society
is out of control. Our laws and institutions designed to protect us have failed. We are, as a society, at the mercy of criminals,
creeps, and crazies!
We can no longer rely on society for our protection of the basic law of
survival. Our only chance is to help ourselves. We must help provide for our own safety. Some people in our society are self
reliant and have the skills, experience, and self confidence to protect themselves and their loved ones. But they're in the
minority.
Most of us have little or no control of our own security. Our society is
out of control and we are its victims, totally vulnerable and having no control over our own fate whatsoever. Our police departments
do their best to protect us, but they cannot always be with us. This is when the crazies attach us. We must be able to defend
ourselves until help arrives! It could take several minutes for the cavalry to arrive so what happens to us in that span of
time depends totally on us. At that moment we are alone and in serious trouble!
Self Defense Products have a long history of helping people defend themselves. There are many accounts of people being attacked by a rapist
or mugger and being able to fight them off because they were carrying either pepper spray or a stun gun.
A woman was on her way home when a big dog began to chase her. She believed
it was a pit bull. The dog "was just running toward me at full speed and I was scared to death and I just screamed for my
life. When the dog was about 4 feet away, I just held back and sprayed everything in this can into the dog's face." She was
jogging and luckily always carried a pepper spray with her.
A woman was attacked on her way home after work. "He came out of nowhere,"
she said. "All of the sudden, I'm attacked from behind and pushed down." "I'm like, 'Oh my God!,'" she said. "I start spraying
my mace everywhere and he just takes off. So, luckily, thank God, I had that in my hand." "Go and buy mace," she said. "When
you have it, and you get out and you know you're going to be outside alone, physically have it in your hand ready. Because
if I hadn't had it ready, it would have been in my bag --what's the use of having it?"
